Helping Riders to get back in the saddle-
In addition to treating animals, R S Veterinary Physiotherapy provides Rider Physiotherapy services. Whether you enjoy hacking or wish to return to competition I can help with:
- Rehabilitation post injury/ surgery
- Physiotherapy treatment
- Rider Performance Physiotherapy Assessment
- Follow up Rider Performance Exercise/ Rider Posture sessions
- Rider Exercise Classes
If you are recovering from Orthopaedic trauma, injury or surgery I can provide functional assessments, treatment and help with rehabilitation planning to optimise your recovery and return to the saddle.
Riders commonly have their horses regularly assessed and treated but fail to have regular checks themselves.
Old injuries and musculoskeletal conditions can cause imbalances and postural problems which can affect the way you sit in the saddle and influence your horse’s performance. Poor riding posture has been linked to some cases of back pain in the horse.
If you feel that you are struggling to sit straight, or have stiffness or tightness through your body when you ride, physiotherapy may help.
I provide a mobile service at your own home/ yard or in clinic at Wellow Fitness Centre, West Wellow for those needing a bit more help in the form of manual therapy to help them get back on track.
RIDER PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
As a qualified instructor and experienced Chartered Physiotherapist I can offer a biomechanical and postural assessment on and off your horse, followed by advice and treatment where indicated.
FOLLOW UP RIDER PERFORMANCE EXERCISE/ RIDDEN POSTURAL SESSIONS
Following an initial assessment I can provide follow up sessions to help improve posture and position whilst in the saddle. Off horse exercise sessions can be arranged individually or in small groups of 2 or 3 at your own home or yard in addition to individual ridden sessions.
